IMMERSION IN THE DESIGN AND FASHION EXPORT PRACTICES
One of Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments) responsibilities is to support Brazilian companies to export their products and services. In partnership with ABEDESIGN (Brazilian Association of Design Companies) and ABEST (Brazilian Association of Designers), Apex-Brasil develops a range of projects to stimulate Design and Fashion companies to export. Yet how to identify what is the best way of encouraging each company?
THE CHALLENGE IN THIS PROJECT WAS TO CREATE A SYSTEM THAT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY CLASSIFY COMPANIES ACCORDING TO THEIR ABILITY TO EXPORT. THIS WOULD ALLOW ABEST AND ABEDESIGN TO BETTER MANAGE THE RESOURCES AND PROGRAMS OFFERED BY APEX-BRASIL.
Our contribution was on developing the logic behind this classification system, as well as collecting data from Design and Fashion companies and automatizing this entire process.
We immerse ourselves in these export practices until we were able to create measurable indicators of export capacity and maturity for companies at different levels.
The presented system allowed the two associations to give more effective guidance to their clients, suggesting them improvements and developments that were aligned with each classification level specific needs. It also enabled a more accurate briefing for the creation of products and initiatives to support these companies.
When completed, this project included research, strategic thinking, data processing, and information visualization. Linking design with investigation, analysis and data presentation is what we are great at.
